Wolford Wood
Rural tourism & biodiversity education
KOA Architecture provided architectural design support through RIBA Stages 2–3 for Wolford Wood, a rural camping, glamping and biodiversity education destination near Moreton-in-Marsh.
Set within a sensitive countryside and woodland environment, the wider project brought together woodland cabins, educational structures, welfare facilities, an outdoor kitchen, parking and site infrastructure.
KOA’s involvement focused on the accommodation and welfare facilities: spatial layouts, floor plans and elevations, coordinated within the wider site proposals. The buildings were developed as modest single-storey structures with simple forms and timber-clad elevations that respond to the surrounding woodland.
The completed cabins sit among the established trees, creating an informal relationship between the accommodation, outdoor spaces and the natural environment.
