Fog Lane
Residential transformation
A comprehensive transformation and extension of a semi-detached family home, providing much improved living accommodation while keeping a considered relationship with the original house and its neighbours.
The approved proposals included a part single-storey, part two-storey rear extension, a hip-to-gable roof conversion, a rear dormer, rooflights and an enlarged entrance porch. Planning permission was secured for the enlarged scheme, including a four-metre first-floor projection, a Juliet balcony and revised side windows.
KOA continued through Building Regulations and technical design, and later assisted with construction-stage matters, remedial works and contractor coordination.
The completed home combines a much larger open-plan kitchen, dining and family space with generous glazing to the garden. Rendered extensions, dark-framed openings and the dormer create a contemporary language while keeping the scale of the original house.
