Textile Studio

Residential interior

An existing loft conversion was transformed into a dedicated textile and sewing studio, creating a practical, calm and well-organised creative workspace within the home.

The design was developed around the client’s working requirements, providing dedicated areas for sewing, cutting and making alongside extensive storage for fabrics, equipment and materials. Bespoke desks, shelving, drawers and cupboards were planned to make the most of the space, particularly beneath the sloping roof.

The existing arched window was deliberately incorporated into the principal sewing workspace. Natural daylight falls across the working surface, with long views over the surrounding rooftops and landscape, giving the client a calm environment in which to concentrate and work for extended periods. A flexible track-lighting system provides task and general lighting when needed.
